Dr. Walid is a highly accomplished physician and leader in the field of wellness management. His academic journey began with exceptional achievement, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in System Engineering from George Washington University in 1987. This academic excellence continued at the George Washington Medical School, where he earned his Medical Degree in 1991.
Driven by a passion for knowledge, Dr. Walid pursued further specialization. He honed his skills in Internal Medicine at Harvard Medical School-affiliated hospitals and attained Board Certification in 1995. Continuing at Harvard, his commitment to lifelong learning led to a dual fellowship in Endocrinology and Diabetes and a Master’s degree in Health Policy and Management, both completed in 1999.
Dr. Walid’s dedication extends beyond Western medicine. In 2020, he received a Master’s Degree in Islamic Studies from Beirut Islamic University. His groundbreaking thesis, “The Management of Wellness,” marked the first such research in the Arab and Islamic world, reflecting over five years of dedicated study.
His professional career showcases a well-rounded skillset. He served as an Instructor at Harvard Medical School while simultaneously providing clinical expertise as a Consultant in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, and Diabetes at the prestigious Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston, USA.
Entrepreneurial vision led Dr. Walid to establish the International Medical Center in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where he serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors & Chief Executive Officer. His dedication to education extends beyond the classroom, with numerous contributions to medical conferences, seminars, and publications.
Dr. Walid’s commitment to public service is evident in his role as a media advocate, representing Islam and addressing post-9/11 issues in American media. His prolific writing career includes hundreds of published articles in renowned publications.
Dr. Walid’s leadership has garnered well-deserved recognition. He was named Saudi Arabia’s Best CEO in the health sector by Thomson Research in 2009. His expertise led to appointments with the Joint Commission International’s Standards Committee and the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties Board. Furthermore, Arabian Business Magazine and Forbes Middle East have consistently recognized him as a leading figure in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East healthcare landscape.
Beyond his medical achievements, Dr. Walid is a pioneer in holistic wellness. He created and hosted “Wamahyaya,” a highly successful television program focused on holistic wellness, captivating over 50 million viewers across the Arab world and on international airlines. This program solidifies Dr. Walid’s position as a leading authority in wellness management.
