Dr. Ahmad Omar Hawsawi

Dr. Ahmad Omar Hawsawi is a healthcare executive, global nursing leader, and thought leader in healthcare transformation with more than three decades of experience shaping clinical systems, nursing leadership, and organizational culture across complex healthcare environments.

Throughout his career, he has held senior executive roles including Chief Nursing Officer, Assistant Vice President for Healthcare Delivery, and Executive Director of Nursing, leading large multidisciplinary workforces and enterprise-level healthcare operations. His leadership has focused on strengthening healthcare systems through improvements in quality, patient safety, workforce sustainability, accreditation performance, and patient-centered care.
Dr. Hawsawi is recognized for his ability to connect strategy, leadership, and frontline clinical practice, translating vision into measurable organizational impact. His work emphasizes building healthcare cultures grounded in psychological safety, authentic leadership, emotional intelligence, and professional nursing governance, enabling organizations to achieve sustainable performance and continuous improvement.
Beyond executive leadership, Dr. Hawsawi is an influential voice in the global dialogue on the future of nursing leadership and healthcare systems. Through his writing, speaking, and advisory contributions, he advocates for stronger nursing leadership, human-centered healthcare models, and the development of high-performing clinical cultures built on trust, accountability, and professional excellence.

He holds a PhD in Nursing, a Master of Nursing, and a Master of Bioethics. Dr. Hawsawi is a Certified Global Nurse Consultant (CGFNS) and a Fellow of the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery (FFNM) at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He is also an alumnus of Harvard Business School’s Senior Executive Leadership Program and the Global Nursing Leadership Institute (GNLI 2023) of the International Council of Nurses.
