Professor Al-Omari is a highly accomplished healthcare leader with over 25 years of executive and leadership experience in the sector. He combines extensive clinical expertise as an Internal Medicine and Critical Care Consultant—holding dual Canadian Fellowships in Critical Care and Infectious Diseases—with a distinguished track record in managing and developing major healthcare institutions across Saudi Arabia.

He is widely recognized for leading large-scale strategic and operational initiatives, pioneering innovative patient-centered care models, and driving digital transformation to enhance the quality, efficiency, and accessibility of healthcare delivery. In addition to his leadership roles, Professor Al-Omari is an active advocate for public health awareness and has authored more than 400 opinion articles.

Professor Al-Omari holds an MBA from Manchester Business School and has completed the Advanced Executive Leadership Program at Harvard Business School. He earned dual Canadian Fellowships in Critical Care and Infectious Diseases from the University of Ottawa and holds the Saudi Board certification in Internal Medicine.

Throughout his career, he has served on numerous prestigious boards and committees. He is currently the Chairman of the Saudi Critical Care Society and a member of the Academic Advisory Council at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University, as well as at the College of Medicine, Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University. He also serves as a Board Member of the Saudi Federation for Sports Medicine, is a Co-founder of Qimam Almasiya Real Estate Development Company, and is a Professor at the College of Medicine, Alfaisal University in Riyadh.

His previous roles include serving as a Member of the Board of Trustees at the College of Nursing, Dr. Sulaiman Al-Habib Medical Group, a Board Member at Rawabet Medical Company, and Chief Executive Officer for Medical Affairs at Dr. Sulaiman Al-Habib Medical Group.

Professor Al-Omari’s contributions have been widely recognized through numerous national and international awards. In 2025, he was selected by CIO Magazine (USA) as one of the global healthcare leaders who have significantly transformed the medical sector and was also named among the Top Healthcare Leaders by Forbes International. He is recognized as the first Saudi healthcare leader to receive the prestigious Grand Stevie Award in the Middle East and North Africa (2025).

In 2024, he received the Innovation Excellence Award from the Global Innovation Institute (GINI), becoming the first healthcare leader in the Middle East to earn this distinction. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the College of Medicine at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University in 2022 in recognition of his scientific and research contributions.

Among his other notable achievements are the National Patient Safety Awards (2018 and 2019) and a Guinness World Record in 2017 for establishing the largest remote Critical Care Control Unit.
