Ms. Samar Hassan is a healthcare quality and patient safety specialist with over a decade of experience in accreditation, quality improvement, health systems strengthening, and healthcare research. She is a licensed pharmacist with a Master’s degree in Healthcare Quality Management, a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), a Fellow of the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua), and a Patient Safety Movement Foundation (PSMF) Ambassador.
As Associate Manager for Quality and Safety at the Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC), Jordan, Ms. Hassan leads national and regional initiatives in healthcare standards development, accreditation, quality improvement, and health system innovation. She has worked extensively with the Ministry of Health and international partners, including WHO, USAID, and UNFPA, on strengthening healthcare quality across primary, secondary, and specialized care services. Her work spans digital health, patient safety, maternal and child health, antimicrobial stewardship, and health system reform.
Ms. Hassan has contributed to the development of Jordan’s Digital Health Accreditation Framework and national quality standards, supporting the safe and effective adoption of innovative models of care. She is also an active researcher and international speaker, with publications and presentations focused on healthcare quality, patient safety, accreditation, and sustainable health system transformation.
